Why I Have Issues with People Who Constantly Have to Tell You What Good Christians They Are

Stan is 76 years old and must be in a wheelchair when we go out. He must use a knee scooter at home. Through all the foot issues, he had one committee he participated in. He can no longer go to those meetings because someone asked to change the meeting day, having been told an hour or so before that if that were to happen, he could no longer attend. This was the first meeting Stan had missed, both because our niece was visiting from Georgia that day and that he had to stay home for 48 hours after the procedure he had on Monday afternoon. The person who did that had missed almost every meeting. After that procedure, we were advised that no intervention was possible and that other things could be tried that would take a long time if even successful.

As this person basically gloated to me over the phone that the day had been changed, I emailed the mayor that he could no longer attend because of that change.

When you constantly feel the need to tell people how involved you are in church and what a good person you are I guess you already know you aren't. Christ teaches to put others before yourself. I don't know how this person even looks at themselves in the mirror, deliberating hurting someone else because of their own exaggerated sense of self-importance.
